OUR BEAUTY EXPERTS HAVE THEIR SAY...
Each year, the magazine hosts a very special productaward called the "I Recommend” Beauty Awards. We askour readers, Canada's Beauty Experts, which productsthey like to recommend to their clients and why in 20different product categories.
What makes these product awards so unique is that wedon't prompt the BAs with any branding or productsuggestions. We simply ask them which product theyrecommend in each category and then tell us why they
recommend that product to their customer.
The beauty vendors get very excited when they learn their product has been chosenmore than any other product in the category. The brand can promote the winningproduct for one full year after the win. So be sure to have a look at this year's winnersstarting on page 25 in this issue.
And we have already started working on our special 50th Anniversary issue comingout this fall. In the issue, we will be celebrating 50 years of beauty in Canada. Thismagazine was launched in September 1972 by Ed Bodner and it's still going strongtoday, 50 years later. One of the features in the issue will be a 50-year timeline of themajor events, product launches and corporate accomplishments since 1972. It willbe a walk through time looking at all the beauty industry has accomplished over theyears. You will read things like in 1996,LOreal purchased Maybelline and in 1997 theybought Ombrelle, busy time for acquisitions! You will also find out when Cle de Peauwas launched, when Lise Watier was formed and much more.
And, as of today we will be hosting the Beauty's Best Awards live and in-personfor the first time in three years! We are very excited to be back again at the Royal YorkHotel in Toronto. We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary of these awards aswell that evening. This show will be a little bittersweet as it will be the last timeI will be hosting the event as I plan to retire at the end of this year. So lots goingon, an exciting six months ahead, hope you will all enjoy the ride. Wishing you asuccessful summer selling season and continued good health.
